MINNEAPOLIS—October 6, 2016— Little & Company, a Minneapolis-based branding agency nationally recognized for using the power of design thinking to redefine brands, is pleased to announce that it is responsible for the name and logo design for the City of Saint Paul’s Capital City Bikeway, which debuted earlier today.

Capital City Bikeway is the long-anticipated 1.7-mile bike loop connecting Saint Paul’s downtown streets to the riverfront bikeway. Little selected the name Capital City Bikeway to reflect and accentuate the bike loop’s physical location. The logo’s industrial feel nods to the historical roots of the city, reflecting the strength, pride and grounded nature of its citizens. The logo’s modern design anticipates pared-down use as an icon or in full identity for larger scale implementations. High contrast letters, colors and shapes match the painted on-street indications to the broader wayfinding system, creating continuity and ease of use from every angle.

Toole Design Group led the transformative streetscape design for Capital City Bikeway and tapped Little as its brand and design partner for the project. Little is also credited with creating the brand identity, logo and wayfinding signage for Saint Paul’s recently announced Grand Round, a visionary 30-mile bicycle and pedestrian parkway connecting the city’s parks, neighborhoods, people, and businesses. Little has also branded the Science Museum of Minnesota, the Minnesota History Center and Saint Paul’s Great River Passage, in addition to upcoming identities for the State Capitol and James J. Hill House.
